I hope everyone had a very happy Christmas! We were so excited to celebrate with Don- he still doesn’t understand the concept of Santa, but toys, he gets that! We like to keep it simple with gifts so I made Don a felt mat for his matchbox cars. We set it up with cars and had it all ready to go in the morning for him. We got him up from his crib (how cute are those Christmas pajamas?! The crib sheet is from Copper Pearl) He was just so excited to play with his toys. His construction vehicles were his favorite! He played and played with those saying “back hoe!” over and over- so cute!
We love our little tradition of setting out a magical Christmas scene we started with Don last year. More about that here.We had quite a snow storm. We got at least 12″ of snow! It was magical. We played in that for awhile. Then we came in and warmed up with some tea.
We spent the rest of the day at our family’s houses- first my mom’s and later Preston’s mom’s. We are so grateful to live close to family and it was fun to watch Don interact with our family. Don was NOT into unwrapping gifts so we did that all for him.
We got home around 8:30pm (past Don’s bedtime), but we let him play with his toys a little longer to stretch Christmas out. We had a really great day- man, having a kid makes Christmas so much better! ps for last year’s recap, here’s that!
In case you didn’t know, I am a tea lover! It all started when I was pregnant with Don. I had read that if you drink Red Raspberry tea, you will have a quicker and easier delivery. I read dozens of testimonials and was sold! So I drank it every day in my last trimester. And guess what? I had a dream delivery. It wasn’t easy, but it was bearable and I was able to do it pain medication free (you can read Don’s birth story here). Anyway, I got hooked on tea and am now always on the lookout for delicious and unique tea. Chai Leaves (a tea club) reached out to me about trying their tea and so, of course, I was excited to test it out! They offer a monthly subscription and what you get is four varieties of tea that they have discovered and tested and determined to be the best of the best. They come in beautiful black boxes of loose tea. They provide empty tea bags and so you can prepare your own tea bag (which yes, stays closed- no floaties). I have never filled my own tea bags and I loved seeing (and smelling!) the beautiful tea! What I love about this is that it makes it much more of an experience- you can slow down and enjoy it (preferably with someone you love). I loved it and have been very much enjoying my tea.p.s. want a free course on how to style your accessories to look amazing? Click below to get your free ecourse!
