Hi Friends- I have been busy working on my entry. So this is my weekly entry update and this round of upgrades came in the form of molding. I am kind of picture molding obsessed. I have it in my living room, hall, and now entry. I think it helps with the flow because all of these area are connected and are the main living areas. Every time I put it up I am blown away at how it really gives a “finished” look to the space and helps segment the space.
I started with some chair molding. This part is so cheap ($16) and goes up fast- in less than 30 minutes!
Next I added the picture molding. This part is slower (1.5 hours) and more expensive ($45), but it sure puts the crowning touch in the room!
/i still need to caulk and paint, but its so much better already!!!
You might have noticed that I don’t have the wood floors down yet. My husband was in charge of this part, but breaking down the tile was too loud to do with the baby asleep and too dangerous to do while he was awake (he was trying to get it done while I was at work). So 1/3 of the space has the tile removed and we are going to try and tackle some more when we both have some time off together. Hopefully by next week we will have the wood floors laid, the back of the doors painted (pink, if I can talk my husband into it), new base boards, and maybe the adjoining wall painted white. That is a VERY ambitious list, so we will see. I am super excited to put the finishing touches in, but I’ve gotta do the crappy parts first.
Let’s do a trip down memory lane… Here’s the before:
Here’s it with just some white paint:
And here we are now:
Looking much better, but still a ways to go! I did buy some art for the space at a local market last weekend. I’m super excited about it and will show more as I get it framed:I’m starting to see the light at then end of the tunnel!
