Hi Guys! This week I was planning on being ALL done with the picture molding in my hall, but alas life happened. We bought the trim and accidentally bought a few of the wrong pieces. They are 16′ long pieces and will be a pain to return. Then it rained and we didn’t want to transport the trim in the bad weather. Pretty much, I am behind schedule and it’s life, so it’s ok. But let my mistake be a warning- when buying trim make sure every piece is matching! I did cut what I had. It’s been 6 months since my original posts on how to put up picture molding (part 1 and part 2), and I forgot how tricky it can be! But once I got in my groove it was smooth sailing.I still need to putty, caulk, and paint. But I love it! If you want instant classiness- add trim!
As you can see, I hung a bit of the art in the hall. I am still figuring out what to do with the rest of the art. The issue is that it is a narrow hallway. I love the look and functionality of picture ledges (especially since I have some souvenirs I want to place on them), but I am worried that it will make moving furniture down that tiny hall even more tricky… So I need to decide if that is ok and then buy the ledges or move on and just hang the art. Hopefully soon I will have it all ready to show off!
When I painted my living room white 6 months ago, I didn’t paint two of the walls. If you paint those, you have to paint the entry and I am lazy/busy so I didn’t want to take on such a big project. I put up molding on the grey walls though, so they will get painted soon because they look awful right now. I am thoroughly sick of the grey though so it really is about time!
Things are getting there! I have made some updates in my living room that I will show you next week, so check back then. If you want to check out all of my hall posts, click here.
