Now that the dining room is all wrapped up (and we LOVE it! The reveal is here) it’s time for a new room to focus on. I have three choices- the bathroom, but I’m saving that for October for the next One Room Challenge. Or I have the laundry closet or the living room. We just got a new TV so we totally switched up the layout of the living room. So I guess that means it is next!

The new TV is the Frame from Samsung. This TV is amazing! It is super compact and you can hang it to look like art on your wall! It has a genius cord solution- pretty much it comes with a box for cords and then one cord goes down from the TV. To be so obsessed with a TV is not my style, but our old TV was 10 years old so it was huge and black and a total eyesore!
We moved the sofa from below the gallery wall to along the railing. The TV will go where the gallery wall is and the gallery wall will go where the Instagram art is.
The fun part of the living room refresh is that it’s all about aesthetics and no major changes to the bones of the room. I love the wood floors, the rug, and the white walls with the molding. How about a mood board?!

Here’s what I am planning on changing:
sofa
The sofa. Oh, the sofa. It is also 10 years old and sadly shows its age. There are holes the size of my fist in the fabric on the seat. A combination of normal wear and tear and my dog scratching at toys (ugh) have made the holes so big and obvious. Oh! And a Sharpie mark from my favorite two year old. Now you know where there are always throw blankets placed very strategically on the sofa- lol.
I am dreaming of a kid and pet friendly sofa that is beautiful and comfortable. AKA the holy grail of sofas. I still need to source this, but fingers crossed that I find the perfect fit in the next few weeks.
chair
Next change I want to make is a new chair. I love our black club chair, but we never sit on it. The dog sleeps on it and it is always covered in dog hair. It’s big and we just end up dumping all of our bags on it when we come home. The black color isn’t the best in the space and feels so dark and looming.
The hope for a chair replacement is a pink chair! Blush pink, please! I want something cute and petite that will look great in the space and offer seating when we have guests over.
art
Last change is I am thinking about updating the art above the pink bench. I have loved that art ever since I DIYed it over a year ago. This room just needs a strong abstract piece of art and I am thinking a gold frame would be perfect.
In the following weeks I will be sharing these updates! What do you think? This room is 90% there and I am excited to really finalize it!
