Hi, I’m Ashley Wilson.
I help women create cozy homes filled with story, charm, and heart.
For over a decade, I’ve been teaching how to turn homes into spaces that feel warm, meaningful, and unique. From the first spark of inspiration to step-by-step tutorials that guide each project from idea to finished room. I share DIY projects, vintage finds, and decorating ideas designed to help you create a home that tells your story.
How It All Started
My love for home began before I ever picked up a paintbrush.
In third grade, I read the book Mandy by Julie Andrews. It’s about an orphan who discovers a hidden cottage in the woods and lovingly brings it back to life. I was completely captivated by the idea of falling in love with a home and caring for it. The story felt so vivid to me that I built my own 3-D version of the cottage, recreating every detail I could imagine. When my cousin Julie saw it, she told me I should become an interior designer- and I believed her.
That childhood spark eventually led me to attend Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in 2003 to study interior design, where I had the opportunity to intern for designer Ruthie Sommers. After graduating, I spent over a decade working in furniture showrooms, gaining hands-on experience in visual merchandising, accessory buying, and photo shoot styling. Those years taught me how to create spaces that feel layered, inviting, and full of personality.
In 2015, everything changed when my son Don was born. I fell deeply in love with being a mom and longed to spend more time at home with him. That desire led me to begin sharing my projects and ideas online. What started as a creative outlet quickly grew into a thriving business, and within two years I was able to leave my full-time job and work from home.
In 2018, my husband Preston joined the At Home with Ashley team full time, turning this dream into a true family business. When I was little, content creation didn’t exist as a career, but today I get to spend my days creating our dream home and inspiring other women to do the same. I feel so lucky that my calling in life, passion, and path all led me here.

When I’m Not Decorating
I live in Logan, Utah- and have a fun and creative life.
I’ve been married to my husband Preston since 2007, and together we’re raising our 10 year old son Don. Which means I’ve officially embraced my role as a proud soccer mom. Our puppy Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Teddy, is my constant sidekick, whether he’s curled up next to me while I work or joining me on long neighborhood walks.
We live in a 1905 home that always has a project waiting for us, and I truly wouldn’t have it any other way. When we’re not working on the house, we love to travel. Each year, I host a design-focused group trip where I get to explore beautiful places with members of this amazing community. This year I’m taking two groups to Austria and Portugal!
And when I’m not decorating or creating content, I’m a proud serial hobbyist. You’ll usually find me crocheting, sewing, painting, scrapbooking, or diving into whatever creative project has captured my attention next.
