I was so bored of my drywall textured ceiling, so

I was so bored of my drywall textured ceiling, so I decided to try something new! Styrofoam ceiling tiles! 💃🏻

These look like vintage tin tiles, but they’re affordable and easy to install 🙌🏻

Here’s the steps-
-Measure the Ceiling
-Paint Ceiling Tiles
-Figure out the Layout and Mark it
-Glue the Tiles to the Ceiling
-Trim the Tiles with Scissors or a Utility Knife
-Add Caulk in the Seams
-Cover the Caulked Seams with Paint

These can cover popcorn ceilings! 🍿 They insulate for sound and temperature. And they’re so beautiful! They are flammable, so take that into account.

Maybe to you it’s a waste, but here’s why I’ve loved making my games pretty 👇🏻

1. We play games more now that they’re not hidden in a cupboard 🃏
2. I enjoy the process of taking an ugly box and making it something I love- a book 💗
3. I budget time in my schedule for creating because it’s so important for me. It’s good for my mental health and then I have something beautiful to show for it 🙌🏻
4. Each box takes me about 45 minutes tops to redo. Which isn’t super time consuming for a craft. 🎲
5. Because the games can be stored vertically in their new boxes, they’re easier to get out and play ♟️

My favorite collection of all time- the Lenox Spice Village! 🏠

Recently I’ve had people ask me what my spice houses are- they’re vintage from @lenox and fulfill all of my pastel, miniature dreams 🥰

I’ve also been researching prices on these- they’ve exploded! When I started collecting 5 years ago, I could get a set of spice houses for $100. Now it’s $1000 😳🫠🙈

My blog has been updated with free checklist downloads, the original sales video for these (!!!) and how much they originally sold for 👩🏻‍💻

My latest pain point- sets we want to build again, but don’t want out. They were a cluttered mess in plastic bags 🙈

So I switched them to beautiful boxes. Added some color to be extra 💁🏻‍♀️🌈. Made labels. And put them on the Billy Bookshelf I just hacked. 🏠

I’m really happy with this Lego organization! It’s beautiful, functional, and makes the room feel more orderly.💃🏻

When I recently painted over a vintage clock I got so much outrage- “you ruined it” being the primary one 🙈

I was also surprised by people telling me to leave items behind if they don’t match my house. Or make my room match the item (😂😂😂)

These might be someone else’s rules. But they aren’t mine! And shouldn’t be yours either (if you want a unique house) 💁🏻‍♀️

Customizing things to become my dream item thrills me! Seeing a room come together with unique stuff I love is one of the greatest joys! 🏠

So don’t tell me to not paint something- I won’t listen 🙃

My grandma offered to teach me to quilt and my fir

My grandma offered to teach me to quilt and my first reaction was “no.” I wasn’t interested because I didn’t think I could be precise enough. 🙈

But I quickly changed my mind. And I’m so glad! She’s taught me every step and some tips, but the best part is we’ve gotten to spend so much time together 💗🥹

My grams made me a quilt when I was a kid, one when I got married, and one when my son was born. Soon I’ll have this one! And now I really appreciate those quilts even more. 🛏️

I just finished the quilt topper, and I’m so proud of it! Soooo many hours have gone into it. Are you surprised it’s rainbow?! 🌈🙃
