A few weeks ago, I got the really fun opportunity to design a living room for an event Mixbook (their site sells custom wall art) hosted in Salt Lake! They wanted a fun and colorful space where the party attendees could get their photo taken. Yes, please!

ice cream, cupcake, and candy ornaments / unicorn ornaments / pom pom tree skirt / pink and blue rug / pink velvet chairs / confetti wallpaper / chunky knit small throw
I chose everything out online, and the good news for you is that it is all budget friendly options! Like these pink velvet chairs that are 2 for $135. The rug is really colorful and fun! And so, so affordable (around $70 for a 5’x7′ rug)!
end table / coffee table / rainbow loop lumbar pillow / blue and pink mugs / Christmas tree topper / ice cream, cupcake, and candy ornaments / unicorn ornaments / pom pom tree skirt / pink and blue rug / pink velvet chairs / confetti wallpaper / chunky knit small throw /
The settee they already had on hand. The end table ($66) and coffee table ($99) are from Overstock. And that rainbow loop lumbar pillow was super popular when I shared it on Instagram stories! You can get it from Macy’s! The walls are wallpapered in a fun confetti wallpaper that pulled everything together.
It was really fun walking in and having everything set up for me! Usually I do all of the arranging, but it was such a treat to see a room I designed all put together! And I definitely think it feels like me!
custom wall art
The art on the wall is all from Mixbook. They printed it on a bunch of different mediums- canvas prints, framed or rolled poster prints, metal, acrylic prints, acrylic blocks, photo prints, and metal prints (all available on their site). There were a variety of art pieces so that guests could choose their own before they sat down to have their picture taken.
Mixbook is unique in that you can add text, upload your own photos (or graphics or art) to create wall art that is 100% your own! They even have hundreds of fonts, graphics, and backgrounds that you can play with when creating your art.
free christmas colorful printables
Before the event, I worked with Mixbook’s team to design 5 holiday prints that are fun and colorful. It can be hard to find modern Christmas art, so it was exciting to work on this project! And the best part is, you can download these cuties for free!!!
And I’d 100% suggest that you print these at Mixbook! They have table top options too- acrylic blocks, 5×7 metal prints, and curved metal prints.
You can get the password to my resource library that has ALL of my free downloads including the 5 holiday printables in it by filling out this form. Note, this also subscribes you to my (free!) newsletter.
living room photo booth
The whole idea for the living room is that you can use the photo for your Christmas photo! They had a professional photographer on hand to take pictures.
It was fun to see my friends at the event AND take pictures in the space. This is Sara from A Pretty Penny Blog and her husband Collin. I adore both of them and we had the best time chatting!
I got to meet Brittany from House Lars Built at this event (she helped run a booth with custom photo books). I’ve been a long time fan of her blog so it was definitely a pinch me moment watching her get a few family photos here. How cute are they?!
event space
The whole event was decorated so beautifully! Like this giant ballon arch with star and heart balloons from Anagram Balloons!
Ashley from Ashley’s Fresh Fix hosted a drink station with Hint Drinks that was delicious. You can see behind her the balloon unicorns! Can you tell that this whole event was picture perfect?!
Here’s Sara and I again! In front of the My Mind’s Eye backdrop. How great are all of those pinwheels?!
This holiday was so a blast! I hope that living room was fun for you guys- it was such a great experience to design and I love that I got to work on a space besides my home. And how excited are you for those free printables?!
Also, I am so excited that I could work with Mixbook! They are a new to me source, but I definitely will be using their services, especially since they have great custom gifts for Christmas!
