In January, as I was redoing the playroom I kept thinking about the projects I want to complete for the rest of the year. We moved in this house in July and this sweet house sure needed a lot of work! We’ve worked really hard to get it where it is and I’m so proud of how far its come! But we have some big plans for 2019!
1. office
If you saw yesterday’s post, you know that the office remodel has begun! The walls are painted and I’m figuring out a new layout. I’d also like to add closet doors where’s there are curtains now. I’d also love to put in crown molding and baseboards (only half of the room has base boards for some reason).

2. living room
My living room is one of the prettier rooms of the room that we just moved into, leaving the floors and walls as they came. I love this space, but see the potential for more! The first project will be adding some Chinoiserie wallpaper and framing it on the wall with the door.
After that, I’m hoping to add more beautiful details- crown molding, maybe a coffered ceiling. I’d like to take down all of the textured wallpaper and replace the plaster underneath with dry wall.

3. patio

As soon as it warms up, we’ll be starting work on the backyard. It needs SO much work! Our first priority is building a pavilion- a detached patio with a roof so we can bbq and eat outside in the summer. I’d love to build a fireplace off of it for roasting marshmallows and those crisp fall nights.

4. front yard
Last year, I redid the front porch and it turned out SO cute! But the rest of the front of the house is not great. I don’t know if its going to happen, but I’m dreaming of painting the rest of the house white and adding pink shutters. I’d also like to put up decorative trim in the gable.

For the front yard, we have a field fence to keep our dogs in. The plan is to replace that with a white picket fence. Our driveway is gravel (which is the worst to shovel) so we’re hoping to pave it by next winter.
5. laundry room
The laundry room is SO bad! We wanted to live with it for awhile before doing a renovation on it (to see what works and what doesn’t). The plan is to stack the washer and dryer and hopefully add a utility sink. The walls need to be painted or wallpapered and the furnace covered in some way. That room has potential, but it’ll be a big job to transform it!

6. stairs
After finishing the playroom, we are itching to finish up the stairs! They are super creaky and its hard to sneak up or downstairs when Don is sleeping. My big plan is to replace the treads and paint the raisers in a pastel rainbow!
