Guys, I love holidays. I think that it’s because it is something different that breaks up the monotony of everyday (which I especially appreciate during the winter)! St. Patrick’s Day growing up we would always have green food thanks to my awesome mom. I remember in Kindergarten we built a trap for a leprechaun and I was SO excited to go to school the next day to see if we caught it (spoiler alert- he made a big mess, but we didn’t catch him 😉 ). I decided to throw a little St. Patrick’s Day party for my little family because I really want Don to love holidays too! I decided to do more with rainbows then all green. I really wanted a fun backdrop that pulled the rainbow theme. I first thought a rainbow pinata, but then remembered how much I love the dot wall from Oh Happy Day’s studio:

She made her wall with paint (in 22 colors!). I wanted a similar look, but removable. So I bought crepe paper from Paper Mart, used my 3″ circle punch, some scissors (I’m IN LOVE with these Eiffel Tower ones), and tape (this is the cutest acrylic tape holder– and super affordable!).
I used the punch to cut out the crepe paper into circles. I love the texture of the crepe paper (but you could use normal construction paper if that isn’t important to you). The paper is super thick, so it wouldn’t cut all of the way through, so I’d just use my scissors to trim it down.
I cut out 9 circles of each color. How pretty are they all together?!
I then used my tape to put them on the wall. My circles are 3″ wide and I space them out 5″ apart from center to center of each circle:
I set the rest of my table and we were all ready for our party!
cupcake liners, gold boxes (no longer available), green dot ribbon, straws, place card, washi tape (gold, green), napkins– from Paper Mart. Gold Flatware (no longer available), Floral Plate (no longer available), Gold Vase (no longer available)
I used washi tape and tooth picks to make the little cupcake flags. It was so easy and I loved how it turned out!
How perfect is that plate for a rainbow/ St. Patrick’s Day themed party?!
I love how festive everything turned out! The giant dot/circle wall was so fun and the perfect backdrop (plus it was so easy to make)! We shot a little video so you can see better how it turned out. Enjoy!
