Spring is officially here! It’s seemed like a long winter, so to be able to spend pleasant time outside just feels amazing! Our house has the saddest backyard. Besides a simple fire pit, there’s not a great place to spend time enjoying the fresh year. This year, we’re going to change that! First up, a new hammock!
This pretty hammock by Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart is the one I choose! Why? It’s affordable- the $167 price includes the hammock and the stand. Plus, it’s super comfy. And the neutral colors will look pretty in any setting!
diy boho hammock
I am loving the trend of boho hammocks (with the pretty fringe). So I figured that I could transform this one pretty easily!
For this DIY, I simply assembled the hammock according to the directions in the package. Which was super easy! Next, I used ready made macrame garland and stitched it onto the edges on both sides. So easy! The hammock was beautiful before, but I love the softness the macrame adds.

Once the hammock was complete, I added a few accent pieces- a chic metal end table, a small llama planter, and a super cute and affordable mid century planter!
All of these are from Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart. There is a good variety in stores, but even more styles and colors online! I shopped in the store for the planters and was blown away by the beautiful options at such great prices!
Although I want it to be pretty and spring outside, its not quite there so I brought out ALL of my pretty plants. As you can tell from the before photos, we’re working on our shed transformation. This yard will be pretty this summer! And the hammock is definitely where it starts.
When I first set it up, my son spent over an hour playing on it. He still loves it! We bring out a blanket and some stuffed animals and he has a blast. Side note, he has got the hammock dirty (it’s still muddy outside). The fabric on the hammock wipes clean easily with a wet rag!
I’ve got to say that I’ve been wanting a hammock for years. This is the first time we’ve owned a home with a backyard so I’m just really grateful to have the space to make this little dream come true!

So cute. One warning; the birds love fringe. We had a hammock a few years ago that they just about ruined by picking at the fringe. Stay alert😊
