Hi friends! Since we’re selling our Florida house soon I thought I’d do some room tours so I can properly say goodbye to this house. First up, the living room! It’ll have a video tour, links to all items that are available, and all blog posts from projects in the room. I also thought I’d add some tips for how to get the palm beach look.
living room tour
Let’s start with the video tour so you get an overview of the space. I thought it’d be fun to share my favorite details from the room. Then, I’ll dive in with more details below:
If the video doesn’t work on the blog post, you can watch it on YouTube here. I’d be thrilled if you subscribed to my YouTube channel! Videos are actually released on YouTube first (usually the night before they’re published on the blog) so you get a sneak peek as a subscriber. Thank you!
how to get the palm beach look
natural elements
The Palm Beach look takes coastal natural elements like rattan, wicker, bamboo, and caning.
colors
Primarily the colors used are pink, green, white, and blue.
patterns
For patterns the use of floral chintz, natural patterns like coral or banana leaves and chinoiserie are the main looks.
The goal is for a light and breezy look.
lattice
I used a Trelliage wall treatment on the walls and the use of trellis and lattice are key to the Palm Beach interior design style.
motifs
Using a pineapple, seashell, and banana leaf motifs.
plants
For plants, palm trees and orchids are commonly used. Any tropical plants or greenery at all work nicely.
style
The style is traditional mixed with preppy and Hollywood Regency.
painted furniture
Painted furniture, especially lacquered high gloss furniture works. White is the most commonly used color, but green, pink, or blue also works. That combines with the natural bamboo or rattan works nicely.
So those are the elements I’d suggest using to get the Palm Beach look. It’s been so much to try out this style.
Ready for links for buying everything in the room? And some satisfying before and afters?

Note, most furniture in this room is vintage (the end tables, record stand, desk).
about this room
The starting off point for the living room was the trelliage on the walls. On the pictures, it’s a little hard to see, but the white trellis treatment adds such beautiful pattern and interest to the room. It’s a very
I knew I needed some good pattern in here, so I started searching for the perfect drapes. I actually got an ad on Facebook for these drapes from Walmart. The price was SO good and the quality is great too. I was very excited to replace the hotel looking drapes for something pretty.
It turns out the price on the drapes was good because they’re discontinued. At least they look pretty in the room!
I love how bright and airy this room is. It gets the best light through the day and has a lovely view of palm trees.
I’ve been so happy spending time in this space.
