One of my favorite patterns has always been gingham, or buffalo check. And since I’ve been making our Florida home into my granny chic coastal dream, I finally got a chance to add some! While I looked around for ways to add it to my decor, I found some of the cutest pink buffalo check items. And I want to share them with you!
Pink Buffalo Check
If you’ve been following along for the last few months, you’ll know we moved into our Florida home back in January. Ever since then, I’ve been in my happy place decorating it and molding it into a place that feels like me. So, let me describe the different decor styles I’ve been bringing in.
If you want tips on how to find your decor style, I wrote a post about it here.
Since we’re so near the beach, I’ve been channeling the tropical, coastal vibe. I put up colorful palm leaf wallpaper in my bedroom, have the cutest light fixture with seashells and am keeping things colorful.
Another one of my huge style inspirations for this house is the Golden Girl’s home. You know, the one from the beloved TV show? Yep, that one!
I can’t really get enough of the granny chic look, so I was excited to experiment with it.
Since I’ve been using so many floral patterns like my curtains, I wanted to bring in something to balance it out. So I looked for a nice geometric pattern to do the trick.
And I’ve really been loving buffalo check (also know as gingham or plaid). I think it blends in nicely. Plus it adds the southern preppy vibe that I’ve also been trying to channel. To start (safely) experimentally with it, I added a buffalo check pillow to my living room. $11 as a decor test is just my speed!
This trend has been around for at least the past 5 years. But I love the preppy-ness of it and I still feel like it feels fresh especially when used in pink or navy. It will always be a classic pattern, it’s just how you use it if it feels dated or interesting.
You’ve probably seen buffalo check used a lot in farmhouse homes. Although that’s not my personal style, I can appreciate the look. However, I’m more into the idea of finding modern ways to decorate with buffalo check.
Since buffalo check is a geometric pattern, it can blend with any style. And like I shared above, I love it as an accent with floral patterns! I’d only use one buffalo check pattern in a room, but it’s be amazing as a rug or even wallpaper!
Or, if you want to just test it out like me, try it in a picture frame or decorative jar. Here’s my favorite items I found when really thinking about this gingham trend-
Pink Buffalo Check Trend Roundup
1 pouch / 2 pillow / 3 rug / 4 curtains / 5 dress / 6 ginger jar / 7 frame / 8 wallpaper / 9 napkins / 10 plates
While I was on the hunt for pink gingham, I found some cute stuff! #2 is the pillow I got from Amazon for my living room. And I totally have a dress similar to #5, but doesn’t that wrap look like heaven?
Buffalo check has really risen above its cosy-farmhouse roots and reinvented itself as a modern classic – a simple but graphic statement pattern that can add a hint of drama to any room. It punches above its weight because it goes with so many different styles that it’s become a style statement in its own right.
I love the idea of using buffalo check as a modern pattern. It is dramatic with its simple and bold pattern. Visually, it brings weight to a design and feels important and like a statement piece. Plus it is perfect to mix in with other patterns (especially if you love floral like me!

I did a buffalo check paint treatment on the tiles at the base of my fireplace. I’ve changed it since then, but I loved it for years!
