2017 was a seriously busy year for my home with remodeling. Here are the big projects I completed last year:
2017 in Review- Kitchen Remodel
In May I completed my kitchen remodel. It was absolutely the biggest project I’ve ever tackled and I am so happy with the made over space. The cabinets are SO much more functional. I adore the farm sink (and am grateful that the white sink that I wanted was out of stock- I could have never kept it white). And its pretty too! 😉
Bathroom Remodel
I feel like I’ve gone on and on about the bathroom lately so I’ll keep it brief. I adore the bathroom. I really embraced my personal style and infused it into the space. It sure is nice having a toilet that flushes. I love having the tile in the shower go to the top of the wall (its the little things). And I learned that I’ll never have a white floor again- haha!
Overstock Design Challenge
In September Overstock invited me to their headquarters and I could just cry thinking about how grateful I am for the opportunity! Besides it being ridiculously fun and getting to meet the coolest blogging friends, I got to decorate a room from scratch in a few hours! I didn’t win the challenge, but I learned so much and had a blast!
Living Room Refresh
This year I slowly tweaked and updated my living room. Between the new sofa and the fancy TV, I’m so happy with how it is looking now! I just need to update that ceiling fan and we’ll be good to go!
Guest Room for my Sister
My favorite labor of love in 2017 was the guest room I got to decorate for my sister! She let me do whatever I wanted and Overstock sent the furniture. It was my decorating dream! I’m so happy with how the global inspired space turned out and am only a little jealous that the wallpaper isn’t mine!
personally…
On a personal note, 2017 was both beautiful and so, so sad. I got to quit my job so that I can be home full time with Don (which I am so thankful for everyday)! I threw myself a big party to celebrate that. I’ve felt so blessed by the opportunities that blogging has brought me. Thank you SO much for reading- it seriously wouldn’t be possible without you!
In September, my husband’s and my best friend committed suicide. We were and are devastated and miss him everyday. I still don’t fully understand why he had to go, but I do know that there is a big hole in my heart. I’m committed to live my life more fully in his memory. Rest in peace Derek, we love you so.
what about 2018?
Well, next week we are moving to Florida and will start decorating the little beach house that we’re renting! I have such fun plans for those rooms and can’t wait to spill the beans on all I’ve been working on! We will be in Florida until June and then I’m not sure what is in store for us.
I adore my Utah condo, but I’m not 100% what’ll happen when we’re done with our Florida adventure. I have a few big dreams, so we’ll see! No matter what, I can promise spaces getting redecorated! Let’s do this 2018!
