Every year, I buy one or two decorations per holiday. At the end of the season, I box those up. The next year I like to redo my decorating from the previous year. As you can tell, that can be pretty boring for me. Then one day, I got a request to share different options for fall shelf decor! It inspired me to write this post and break out of my holiday rut!
fall shelf decor- kitchen
I started in my kitchen. I love decorating my shelves in here! To begin, I concentrated on adding lots of warm colors and textures. Things like wheat (that I got from Hobby Lobby), a vintage wood carved owl, brass pumpkins, and antique photos that I glued witch hats to.
I still kept it nice and colorful, but switched out enough things to feel perfect for Halloween/fall!
One of my favorite additions was this printable with the F. Scott Fitzgerald quote about fall! Keep reading, I have it available as a free download below! P.s. those brass pumpkins were a gift from a friend a few years ago. I haven’t been able to track down similar ones, but I sure treasure them.
I have some Halloween items and some pieces that will work until Thanksgiving. After Halloween, I’ll just pull the spookier elements and add more pumpkins. Side note, the give thanks art and wheat are from Hobby Lobby. The owl was found in a thrift store!
A few weeks ago, I bought this garden rose bowl. I love it! It feels fresh and pretty. It’ll be perfect for serving a big salad or veggies when we have friends or family over. Right now it’s on sale for $16!!!
Lucy wanted in on the festivities! Lol!
fall bedroom #shelfie
The shelves in my master bedroom are full of color coordinated books. I LOVE them! I thought it’d be fun to decorate this area for fall. As you can see, my number one choice for fall decorating are pumpkins!
For the pumpkins, I go to the Dollar Store and buy $1 pumpkins and paint them. For the foam ones, I use toothpicks stuck in cardboard to get the bottoms dry and prevent damage. By painting reusable pumpkins, they last year after. Target Dollar Spot is another great place to find budget pumpkins. I’ve grabbed a few pumpkins at thrift stores when I happen upon them as well.
For the colorful art, I added in some more fall printables. Isn’t this pumpkin spice one so fun?!
The art is subtle and modern and I really LOVE it! Which one is your favorite? I’d love to hear in the comments! You can see better what they look like below-
If you’d like these for your fall shelves (or to use as wall art), just put in your information below. It’ll also sign you up for my weekly newsletter. When you sign up, you’ll get a link to where you can download the art immediately.
fall shelf decor- Don’s room
For Don’s room, I was inspired by Studio DIY. She has a similar set-up in her son’s room. I had these cardboard bats on hand and use they yearly. But never up here before! My son is obsessed with Halloween so decorating for it feels right.
Besides the bats, I put witch hats on a few stuffed animals for a festive change! I also hung a “Halloween” banner for extra festivity.
So now it’s time to ask you- which fall shelfie is your favorite?! Did you get any ideas by seeing how I decorated mine? I sure hope so! Happy Fall!
