I grew up with my mother reading Peter Rabbit and other Beatrix Potter books to me- I was drawn into the beautiful illustrations and the magical tale. A few years ago, I visited The Lake District in England where Beatrix Potter dreamed up Peter Rabbit. If I could spend a summer anywhere- it’d be there.
So when I had the opportunity to throw a Peter Rabbit Party to celebrate the opening of the new movie, I was so excited! I figured I could decorate my dining room with a little of the magic I remember from the books.
centerpiece DIY
To begin, I needed a centerpiece. I thought it would be fun to make a little home for Peter Rabbit! I ran to the craft store and found a $4 bird house. To make it a house, I snipped off the peg and added in a wood door. I then used a little paint to add some color and details to the house.
I thought the house would be SO cute sitting on some grass. I’ve always wanted to grow wheat grass for an Easter craft before, but was weary of how long it would take to grow. I bought a kit online and once it arrived it took two days to be fully grown! Hopefully that is good news if you’re also a procrastinator!
Didn’t the little house turn out so cute! For the rest of my Peter Rabbit Decor, I shopped online (though I wish I could stop by the Farmington, Utah location that I used to live close to)!
I completed the centerpiece by placing an egg wreath around the wheat grass and little house. I love that I can put this on my door as Easter gets closer!
place settings
For place settings, I started with a blush plate and then layered on a Peter Rabbit egg shaped plate. I used linen blue striped napkins with gold flat wear. I continued to use gold to add sparkle to the table with the glasses and straw.
One of my favorite things to do with parties it to make creative name tags! These were super easy too, I just used an egg cup, a speckled egg, and then wrote names on little pieces of paper that I cut into banners and taped onto the eggs! Aren’t they cute?! Oh and those cute egg cups are $1 each! Yay for affordable decor!
table decor
I’m a girl who loves adding whimsy whenever possible! I thought these little figurines of Peter and his sisters were a fun touch! You could even send them home with guests as a party favor.
The table is grounded with a white table runner. If you look closely, it has pom poms on it- which look just like cute bunny tails!
One more thing I want to point out are these super cute brass little vases. Again, they are nice and affordable at $4 each and I can see myself using the over and over again! Aren’t they so happy with the fluffs of Hydrangea coming out of them?!
dining room sneak peek!
This has been the first official sneak peek for how my dining room turned out! I can’t wait to show you more in a few days!!!
Thirty something years ago, I was born on Easter Sunday and grew up loving this time of year! I still do and especially adore this color pallet. Oh and if you’re wondering when Easter is this year- it is April 1st, so you have plenty of time to get started if you want to throw your own Peter Rabbit party!
For our party, we had a little brunch and then headed out to see the movie. My son loved it and stayed in his seat the whole time- which is a miracle for a 2 year old! Throwing this little party was so fun, though decorating for it was definitely my favorite!

LOVE LOVE LOVE your Peter the rabbit table. My mother passed away a few years ago and Peter was her favorite. She had an entire room in her house full of Peter paraphernalia. Your sweet mother-in-law has directed me to your blog and I have been thrilled to see all the great things you and your family are doing. I’m headed to Farmington station park, to pick some of these treasures up as soon as it stops snowing.
P.S. My mom you will have known. She was your husbands Aunt. I’m so proud of your fun adventure. Keep your fantastic post coming..
Take Care

Oh Natalie, thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog and comment- that means the world to me! I didn’t realize that your mom loved Peter Rabbit so much (neither did Preston), that is so sweet. I hope you find some items you love! I did know your mom and feel lucky to have! Thank you! Ashley
