Buying this house, one thing really perplexed me- where would we eat? There isn’t a dining room, just a large kitchen. So we put our table (that was too big) in the kitchen and it was fine. I didn’t like having to push the table against the wall and it was really hard to get in and out of the room.
But, evidently fine isn’t good enough (lol), and I started dreaming about having the perfect dining table setup.

But what is the perfect size for a small space dining table?
- For seating 3-4, you should have a 36″-40″ table
- For seating 2, you should have a 24″-30″ table

And then I found the perfect table! It is from Grandin Road and is called the Rene Round table. It measures 35″ round, so its the perfect size for our family of 3. I paired it with two Tottenham Pink Side Chairs and a bench.
It feels really cozy with the bench set-up! We can tuck everything in tighter, but this is how it is set-up most of the time. I’m loving the change!
The other table and chairs will be moved into our office where there is plenty of space. That way we have a larger table when we have company over. For day to day use, we are LOVING the new table!
