Let’s be honest- when I first moved in to the Florida house almost exactly one month ago, I filmed a house tour sharing my plans for each space. And then I worked so hard on those rooms, I forgot to show the video 🤦🏻♀️. So I thought that today I’d put up that video with how it looks now plus all the 2020 project plans I hope to complete in my houses this year!
Florida home tour
Let’s start with the video tour! It walks through the whole house empty and really, how was that so recently?! I put in video of it with how it is now plus my plans for each room.
If the video doesn’t work here, you can watch it on YouTube here. I’d be over the moon happy if you subscribed to my YouTube channel! Videos are actually released on YouTube first (usually the night before they’re published on the blog). Thank you!
2020 project plans
Last year I shared my 2019 project plans and I was so practical- ha! I did way more than what I thought I would. So this year I’ll shoot for the stars and we’ll see where I end up ;).
1- Don’s Room
drapes / dino / quilt / all furniture is thrifted
When we first moved in, Don’s room was were we all slept- it helps get him adjusted. The room was full of air mattresses. Now, we have more furniture. My goal it to finish his room- paint the walls, hang wallpaper, build the bed and refinish it, paint the thrifted dresser and nightstand. I’d like to add a rug, a play table, and more toy storage. This future Dino room will be so fun!
2- Kitchen
The kitchen looks pretty much the same now as when we moved in. The goal is to remove (and donate) the cabinets, appliances, and countertops. The current cabinets are low quality. I’d like the new uppers to go to the ceiling. I’ll share more about the plan soon, but picture colorful appliances, quartz countertops, a light backsplash. It’s going to be so fun!
3- Living room
drapes / drape rods / Trelliage wall treatment / rug / lamp / coffee table / dog bed / sofa / pillows / end tables are thrifted
The living room has come the farthest the quickest! Thank goodness because this it gets a ton of use! For this year, I’d like to figure out some additional seating, add in a desk, finish the Trelliage, put up sconces, and maybe add some built in bookcase storage around the desk. This is a big room, so figuring out the layout will be key.
4- Dining Room
open shelving / table / chairs / chandelier / cupcake pink paint
In the dining room, we’ve made 3 big updates- open shelving, installing the chandelier, and putting in the table and chairs. It still needs some love though (although I am grateful at how functional it is!). I’m thinking a wallpaper mural, maybe banquette seating, and window coverings.
5- Master Bedroom
drapes / drape rods / desk / mirror / wallpaper / white chest / headboard / bed frame in pine / monogrammed sheets / palm stitched quilt / lamp / rug / desk chair is thrifted / art
The master bedroom is another space where I’ve worked hard to install wallpaper, chair molding, paint, and lots of furniture. I’d like to add panel molding, crown molding, and this space really needs a few more accessories, a bench at the end of the bed, and art.
6- Bathroom
Here’s another space I haven’t touched. It’s 100% functional though, so that’s nice. Hopefully soon I’ll add new lights, a medicine cabinet, maybe switch out the vanity for something with better storage, a faucet, and wallpaper the walls. I wrote a whole post with the 10 ways I’m thinking I can update this bathroom and keep the tile.
7- Patio
This patio is such a great blank slate! I am grateful for the patio- since we poured concrete at our Logan house, I know how lucky we are to have this. I’d like to paint the wall of the garage with a big rainbow mural and then put outdoor furniture in front of it. We don’t use this space much now, but I’d like to make it great for outdoor living. That’s why we’re in Florida, after all!
8- Font of House
Oh, I have a vision for the front of this sad little house! I’d like to paint it pink or mint- what color would you choose? On the side of the house you can see it used to be mint before this poop brown color. I’d probably remove the little bits of stone- I hate those. Remove the awnings once we get new windows, add columns to the porch and put up some decorative corbels.
I’d love to add a picket fence out front! And plant some flowers. Probably switch out the light and do some landscape lighting out here. We’re getting a new door, so that will be painted too. And, of course, I’d love to build a free little library for the front!
9- Powder Bathroom
I guess I don’t have a picture of this room, but it’s in the video. Off the garage there’s a tiny powder bathroom that’s the smallest room. I’d like to work some magic on it and put up wallpaper, hang a fun light, and skirt the sink. I know that this can be a cutie (even though it’s pretty sad now).
10- Logan House
Currently, our plans are to spend the summer in Logan and not rent it out for June, July, and part of August. During that time, we’d like to do some updates. Maybe work on making the kitchen nicer for renters? Maybe pave the driveway (it’s just gravel right now which is the worst in the snow?
There’s also lots of outdoor projects to tackle- like building a play house, extending the picket fence, or working on landscaping.
Alright, so there are our big plans for 2020! I’m excited to see how much we tackle this year! What project are you most looking forward to?

I vote mint on the house exterior. Mainly because the house next door is pink and I think your being mint would complement rather than clash. Also, the mint record player turned out so good and goes well with all the other pink in the house. Perhaps mint exterior with pink doors? In my head it’s really cute.

Thanks so much for your input and for following along Dana! You make such good points. And the mint exterior + pink door is what I’m thinking too…🤔

I’m most excighted for the outside remodel! I vote for mint since your neighbors are pink but both look great! I think adding the molding and paint made a great difference and u should defiantly do built in book case around the desk aera! Can u talk more about your budget on how u can afford all the projects and like if having sponsors helps and I know thrifting helps a lot! I’m just all ways curious about numbers

Thanks for sharing your input Peyton! I usually share price break-downs in each of my project reveals, so if you have specific items you’re wondering about I share all that in my blog. I get things sponsored where I can, but I usually share that product info as I go too. Hope this helps!😘

The outside would be so cute in mint, but I do love a pink house! I’m excited to see that and the dining room- I love the chairs you have in there and may just need to get them for mine!! 🙂

Thanks Danielle! I love me a pink house too, so I’m really debating on the color. The chairs make me so happy so I say go for it!

I love following along on your journey! I’ve recently discovered my true love of color (previously loved all neutrals) & it’s been so fun. I agree as a third suggestion for a mint exterior and a pink door. Or maybe a light blue & then a pink door? A picket fence would be so fun in the front!

I can relate- I didn’t always decorate this colorfully, but I feel like it’s me! Thanks for your thoughts and for following along Olivia!💕

Love following along on your remodeling journey! I recently discovered my love of color (previously loved all neutrals) & it’s been so fun. I agree with above comments about doing a mint exterior with a pink door. Or maybe a light blue exterior with a pink door? Just another idea. 🙂 A picket fence would be so fun in the front!

Ohh I love the idea of a light blue exterior and pink door! Thank you Olivia!

This is so fun!! I wonder if you might like the stone on the house if you paint it white? Florida in the winter is a dreamland😍

I haven’t thought about that! I just know I love color 😂
