I’m a huge rug fan! They really pull a room together while adding softness, texture, color, and pattern. Rugs are a great way to express yourself and designate a living zone. Over the years, I’ve found some of the most affordable places to buy rugs that I want to share with you!
When I was first married, I bought a 5’x8′ flat weave gray damask rug to go over our shag carpet. This was my first rug buying experience and it was a fail! The rug wouldn’t stay down and was too tiny for the space. But I loved the color and a few years later, I tried again.
I’ve learned a lot since then! Now I can recommend the correct rug size and give you tips for finding the perfect rug online (how to find the right style, color, and material). If you love pink rugs, I have a great round up of my favorites here.
affordable places to buy rugs- amazon
Isabella Pink Oriental / Novogratz Turquoise / Vintage Fruit /
Natural Fiber Vintage / Light Blue and Ivory
I thought I would share my top 10 places I go to buy rugs. These are where I personally shop for rugs that are beautiful and a good price. From each source, I picked out my top 5 favorite affordable rugs.
First up, Amazon. Especially if you’re a prime member, this is a great spot to get a cute rug quickly.
ebay
Soho Wool / Geometric Bohemian / Pink and Purple Distressed / Moroccan Fringe / Grey and Cream Trellis
eBay is a great spot for pre-used stuff, but it’s also great for new rugs too! I’ve linked my favorites above. Make sure to also look for vintage rugs while you’re on eBay too! Side note, that grey rug is what I had in my Florida living room and I sure loved it!
joss and main
Dorset Navy / Mahn Tribal / Elana / Lonerock / Kriszara Handhooked
Joss and Main is a great spot for some unique rugs. My first kitchen had the cutest runner from them. Side note, can you even with that floral rug?!
Overstock
Persian Boho Navy / Pink Medallion / Momeni Anatolia /
Jaoine Jute / Boho Moroccan Tassel
I am a huge Overstock fan! I’ve used a ton of their pieces and rugs in my designs. I’m personally crushing on those pink and blue rugs. Cute and affordable!
rifle paper co
When Rifle Paper Co. came out with their rugs, I knew I HAD to have one. The patterns and colors and whimsy are just SO good! I ended up putting the Luxembourg Rose in my office and ADORE it. They are less than $400 for an 8×10 which is a great price!
rugs.com
Dark Grey Santiago / Braided Jute / Pink El Paso /
Pink Dover / Alexis
The newest rug in my house is that cute pink Alexis Rug from Rugs.com. They have vintage rugs as well as ready made rugs, the vintage are pretty expensive, but the rest you can get on a budget.
rugs usa
Pink Allurance Medallion / Mint Caroline Marigold / Pink Native Cactus /
Mint Cora Botany / Annette Hallie
I had a hard time narrowing the rugs I loved on Rugs USA down to 5 options! They have a ton of beautiful options that are different than what I’m seeing everywhere.
target
Block Tufted / Pink Ipswich / Floral Tufted Pink /
Mohave / Meadowsweet Diamond Tufted
Raise your hand if you like long walks down Target aisles- alone! I totally do and I’ve spotted SO many cute rugs there. My favorite is the Mohave that currently lives in my She Shed.
urban outfitters
Malika / Sarafina Chenille / Lucy Tufted /
Etta / Mae Patchwork
Urban Outfitters is one of the first places I check for decor since it’s a good price and on trend. These rugs are no exception- modern, textural, and affordable.
walmart
Novogratz Bungalow Green / Traditional Persian Pink /
Momeni Isabella / Geometric Diamond / Linear Triangles
Walmart has really stepped up their home decor game in the last few years. They have some great rugs too!
Wayfair
Distressed Global-Inspired / Action Ivory / Peraza /
Heerlen Hand Tufted / Brandt Light Blue
Last up, Wayfair! Their rug selection is HUGE and they have some gorgeous options. I used their rug in the Mix Book Living Room because I needed something with a bunch of color on a budget.
conclusion
So, what do you think? In hopes that everyone could find something they liked, I pulled together rugs that had a lot of different looks. That way, there is something that could work for any space. I actually have a hard time choosing which ones I love the most…
I think the Geometric Bohemian from eBay is a lot of fun. Since it has the geometric pattern, it brings structure to all the different colors on it. You can also get a 6X9 rug for just $230, which is a steal! This would be a really fun one for a room that has more neutral pieces of furniture. But it could also be the main piece in the room, then you could take colors from it to match in the rest of the room.
Another one I love is the Pink Native Cactus area rug from Rugs USA. It’s just such a fun take on the classic native rugs. And I also love the tassels on the corners!
If I were going to pick one more that I’m really into, I’d have to say that I love the Novogratz Bungalow Green from Walmart. I like how the trellis pattern is a little crooked and that the green diamonds have a distressed look. It makes it really interesting while still being more on the neutral side.
Which one is your favorite? I’m hoping these sources are helpful in your future rug shopping adventures!
If you love it, pin it!

Is the first photo your home? I could not find it in the post. I love the rattan bench. Do you have details?

HI! Yes, that was my house when we lived in Florida a few years ago. The Rattan bench was from Grandin Road and is no longer available.
