A few weeks ago, I revealed all of the pictures of the laundry room my husband and I worked so hard on. Then, a week later, I tallied up every last invoice and receipt and shared a breakdown of the total cost. This was a higher-end renovation and the total (close to $10k) reflected that.
Since then, I have received countless messages and DMs requesting a “low version” of my laundry room. I LOVE design at a good price so I was happy to oblige!
A large portion of the budget was replacing the water heater and going with a tankless option. Another chunk was the price to replace the rotted wall. Those two items take out about $4000 of the cost (bringing it down to $6000)
I also splurged on some of the accessories and tile and millwork. The ones I consider budget friendly, I included below. If you go with simpler options on the high end items, it turns out that you can get a similar look for much less. Let’s see-
Budget Friendly Version Laundry Room
Subway Tile (3″x6″ pieces- smaller than what I used) and Brass Schluter $155
Tiling Supplies (grout, tile adhesive) $35
Accessories (flamingo $60, agate box $20, faux peonies $69, mini peony $35, laundry baskets $64, canisters $54, metal baskets $30, wool dryer balls$10, pink laundry soap bars $8)- Total $350

Wallpaper $465- I don’t think there is an alternative to get this big of a look. So I’m sticking with the wallpaper I used.

There you go, essentially, I cut the price for the laundry room in half by simplifying and going for budget options. I still stand by my selections for this room, but I hope it’s helpful that you can get this same look for and affordable price tag.
