Hello! A few of my blogging friends got together to share our holiday decor with you! Welcome if you are visiting from Summer’s blog!
A few weeks ago, I put up my Christmas decorations in my living room. It took all day and I was tiiiiired after it was done. So I packed everything up and decided having one room decorated was good enough.I think sometimes creativity takes time to build up. I’ve been itching for a fun project, and decided to use the leftover decor I have for the entry.

I think I was a little slow to add Christmas decor to the entry because I just finished redoing it less than a month ago. I love how it looks on a normal day, but it is fun to have it extra sparkly and fun!
This view is my favorite! I started with the Merry & Bright Heidi Swapp banner ($12). I love how big it is because it adds a fun graphic punch right when you walk into the house. Plus, there are lights on the stars that add the perfect sparkle!
For this project, I added a pink poinsettia that I got from the grocery store. I plopped it in an empty planter I had from Joann’s a few years ago. Now, fingers crossed that I can remember to water it so it lives until Christmas.
When my husband and I were first dating, I got a poinsettia for Christmas and kept it alive for such a long time. It looked awful, but I loved it! When I went to college, I had Preston watch it for me. Finally his mom convinced me to let him throw it away since it was barely alive- lol!
On the right side of the table, I added my Heidi Swapp letterboard. Then I put a few ornaments that I robbed from my tree into the hurricane that usually had faux succulents.
I love how the console table turned out! The modern rose gold Christmas trees I got on clearance from Target last year. They are kid friendly (Don plays with them all of the time) AND they unfold to be flat. So yay for easy storage!
While scrolling Instagram, I saw how pretty garlands looked on banisters and realized that I could put a garland on my tiny stair rail. I know that is not unique at all, but I have never thought of doing it in my house for some reason!
garland
As is the theme for this entry, I used what I had and put up some garland I had on hand. Yes, I wish it was thicker, but it is pretty and good enough.
I love the pink ribbon that is used to secured the garland! I tied on some mini ornaments for a little color.
While making the entry look festive (its so fun to walk into!). I kept thinking about what you, a blog reader, prefers. Would you rather see me use what I have (even though you might not be able to shop all of it. Like what I did here). OR would you rather me buy all new things so that you can replicate the look?
I can see both sides of it- if I use what I have that’s good for me (and the Earth) because I’m not spending a ton of money and filling landfills. Hopefully it inspires you to look around your house and get creative with what you have.
But I’ve also seen a blogger’s beautiful home and wanted an item that wasn’t available and was bummed at that too. Anyway, I’d love to hear what you prefer in the comments!
Speaking of blogger’s beautiful home, next up on the blog hop is Designthusiasm! Make sure to check out all of the other bloggers too- you’ll love their gorgeous Christmas decor!
As a side note, we took Don to see Santa and he was the sweetest with him! Don told him all about how he wants a garbage truck with a grabber for Christmas. I hope you all had a great weekend too!Shop this post: https://athomewithashley.com/?p=5288&preview=true

Ashley I adore that Merry and Bright banner – so so cute and festive! And the glass and gold hurricane too, thinking I need to find that:)
And personally, I love seeing a blogger make do with what they have because it inspires me to do the same. And let’s face it, none of us really needs more “stuff”!
Happy Holidays to you and your adorable family!

Ashley this is all so fun and whimsical! You’ve created such a festive atmosphere and I say yes to reusing what we already have – I did it in my entryway too! My garland in there is about 15 years old! Your space is beautiful! xo
