One Room Challenge- Florida Kitchen Week 1
The last One Room Challenge I did was my laundry room. I love that space, but redoing a room in 6 weeks is a lot of stress. Even though it’s hard, I miss it! This round of the ORC is perfect timing for redoing my Florida kitchen. Can I really finish this room in 6 weeks- technically 5 since we can’t start demo until next week? Well, I sure hope so!
My Thrift Haul #3
Every few weeks I like to share what I’ve found thrifting. This is my third thrift post like this and honestly, I love writing them because it helps me actually put away what I found. Plus I find value in sharing what I find. More own that in a minute. Here’s my third thrift haul!
How to Clean Dried Paint Brushes
One of the questions I get all the time is how I clean my paint brushes. Well usually, I just clean a brush that is wet with paint with warm water to get all the paint out. But then I accidentally left a paint out overnight and thought the brush was ruined. So I thought I’d try a bunch of methods and learn how to clean dried paint brushes. Want to see what I found?
My Thrift Haul #2
Every week I go thrifting at least once because I LOVE it! And also, I’m really enjoying the look of a layered home. I’ve noticed now, when browsing Pinterest that I’m not so into a “perfect” house where everything is new and shiny. I like a touch of modern, but really love a layered home with lots of personality. And so I thought I’d share my thrift haul of the week.
Thrifting really is the best way to add character. You find a unique item that’s been loved before and when it’s added to a home, it grounds the space. It adds age and interest and every room needs at least one thing that’s old.
How to Make Face Masks Cute
When the pandemic first hit, my husband was the designated “go to the store” person. I went on walks around my neighborhood, but never left my house other than that. As time went on, I hand sewed a mask for an occasional grocery store visit. Now that it seems like masks in public are going to continue for the foreseeable future, I thought I’d find some ways for how to make face masks cute.
I’m approaching masks the say way I approach my whole life. If something has to be around, might as well make it functional AND my style. Need a fridge? Paint it with rainbow stripes! Have to do laundry? Make it a pretty space! Have to wear a mask? Add some ruffles!
