Yesterday I shared how I painted the rainbow mural on my patio. That was such a fun project and really laid out the ground work for the rest of the space! Since we already had the furniture ready to go, it was pretty quick to put everything to for the patio reveal!

Before
When we first moved in, the whole house was a lovely poo brown color. Pretty quickly, we decided to paint it white. The white really helped brighten up this sad state it was in.
Then, I painted the rainbow mural.

Here’s the look I was going for- a laid back boho feel. I wanted the space to be perfect for relaxing and dining al fresco. It’s a small cement pad, but I thought I could fit a small table and sofa set that’d fit our family nicely. In a nutshell, I was going for comfy, cute, bright, and fun. Want to see how it came together?
After- dining area
For the dining area, I went with a petite 31″ table and paired a settee and two chairs with it. I love these cafe pieces! They are cute and have done so well living outside!
It’s pretty humid and buggy in Florida right now, but in March and April we spent many nights eating out here. We even had a bbq before the pandemic with our friends! This was the perfect spot.
Although we don’t currently spend our evenings out here, it’s SO nice having a place to sit in the day! My son has an inflatable pool and having seating while he “swims” is nice. We also eat lunches or have Popsicle breaks here.
After- living area
I put out two rugs to delineate the different spaces. To the right of the dining space is the living room area. Aka lounge and relax!
The mango tree in our yard shades this part of the patio in the morning nicely. I’ve spent many hours out here on nice days. It’s my favorite place to spend the morning!
This cutie elephant table is probably my favorite piece out here! It’s adorable and the rattan is perfect for a Florida House. I’ve been searching for a vintage one like this for years, so this was so exciting to receive! I think it’s the perfect end table since the tray on the top comes to act like a tray.
This is a small set (only two adults fit on the settee). It comes with two chairs. I love that it’s more petite since it fits perfectly out here! Anything bigger would have felt crowded. This is exactly what we need.
After- whole space
The two areas work nicely next to each other and there’s nice flow out here.
There’s power lines right over this area which means we have electricity in our house (yay)! But it also means that the umbrella (that we keep on our DIY umbrella stand) can’t be centered in the space. It’s too tall. So it stays on the edge. It’s nice and big so it still works, but if you’re wondering why it’s not right over the table, the power lines are why!
conclusion
I love, love this space! Our home is 890 square feet (so pretty small). With being home nonstop over the past few months, having extra living space outside has meant the world to us! We have used this space so much and love that it now is a lovely backdrop for our memory making here.
The paint was the main project out here. The other DIY is the umbrella stand. Then it was all about adding in the beautiful furniture. It’s all from Safavieh– a company who’s products I’ve loved using through the years. They’re so good about being affordable while still being on trend and really beautiful.
Thank you for following along with the patio makeover! Maybe in the fall I’ll work on the concrete slab (it’s badly pitted and could use some filling or maybe tiles). But even with it’s imperfections, this is one of my favorite spaces of the house!

Hi Ashley! I live close to you!! I bike by your house. Lol. Btw, you can call FPL and they can move your power line so that it’s taller and you can have your umbrella wherever you want it. They do it for free. Love your house.
