In June of 2021 I completed my kitchen renovation and selected the BESPOKE refrigerator as one of the first elements that I designed the whole room around. Since I’ve had it for a few months, I thought I’d write a Samsung BESPOKE fridge review in case anyone else is considering this appliance. I’ll go over features, pros and cons, and the price.
Samsung BESPOKE fridge Review
how the design developed
I recently watched a video on YouTube about how this fridge came about. And the BESPOKE refrigerator is in response to market research. Over the years what people want out of an appliance has changed. Of course, they want fresh food but there is a rise in demand for personalization. Appliances now need to be functional and beautiful!
When storing food, people also want flexible storage solutions.
Customers also like the idea of changing just the outside of the refrigerator to match with the current decor of the kitchen. Isn’t it genius that with a renovation, new panels can be changed out, but the body of the refrigerator stays the same?!
colors
I’ve owned many Samsung appliances and they have functioned well and lasted over time. So when selecting a new refrigerator I took that into consideration as well as the fact that I could have a pink refrigerator! For my kitchen, I chose the rose pink glass.
Color is a great way to personalize appliances. Right now the BESPOKE refrigerator is available in the US in a variety of beautiful colors that they are looking to expand with time and as new trends emerge. There are a variety of colors that feel fresh and on trend. They should fit every person’s taste.
In Korea, there are 360 colors available! Europe also carries the BESPOKE refrigerator and has a different coloring offering. I’m a color lover, so having something besides the standard stainless, black or white options is exciting.
configurations
The BESPOKE refrigerator currently comes in a 4-door flex that I got, a 1-door column, or a bottom mount freezer.
What’s cool about these options is that the different configurations can connect together.
So say a family grows and you need a bigger refrigerator, an additional refrigerator can be purchased and it’ll still match and look beautiful while giving more food storage.
interior features
The first thing I want to point out is that on this refrigerator, the refrigerator is up top and the freezer is on the bottom. I love this feature! We use our refrigerator much more than the freezer, so it makes more sense to have the refrigerator at eye level so it’s easy to grab and see what you always use.
beverage center
On the left hand side of the fridge is the beverage center. There’s two doors, a thinner door opens and reveals the water dispenser. As an adult, I’ve never had a refrigerator with a water dispenser and it’s so convenient! Now my son can fill up his own water bottle and it’s nice that it gives him some independence.
Next to the water dispenser is a 48 oz. auto fill pitcher. So you fill the dog bowl, water bottles or coffee maker, put the empty water pitcher in the refrigerator and the pitcher automatically is filled up with fresh water! It is so convenient!
The water pitcher also has an option so you can infuse the water with flavor. I love lemon or cucumber water.
The beauty of having the water dispenser behind a door is that it leaves the exterior to look sleek. I’ve also noticed that water dispensers on the door can leave drips on the door and be one more thing to clean.
Ice maker
Below the beverage center in the freezer is a dual ice maker. It makes two types of ice- regular cubed ice and ice bites. There’s a scoop to get the ice. I’m a big fan of adding the ice bites to my drinks!
refrigerator to freezer
On the lower right side of the refrigerator there’s an option to customize the storage to be a refrigerator or freezer.
It’s called “FlexZone” and the idea is that when needs change (like for a party or prepping for an event), the temperature can change. There are 5 adjustable settings so any type of food can be stored.
At my house, we don’t do a lot of freezer food. So when we had people over for a BBQ, it was nice to be able to convert the freezer space to cool like a refrigerator and be able to store the salad, fruit, veggies, and other sides before the party started.
storage capacity
I’m always asked if the refrigerator is big enough for our family and it definitely is! There is 29 cu. ft. of capacity- it is a spacious refrigerator.
The interior is designed to be able to easily store food in an organized way.
The flexible storage drawer on the right side has two customizable temperature settings. So whatever goes in there like fruits, veggies, or cheese it’ll be at the perfect temperature.
Inside the freezer and refrigerator there are sliding trays and adjustable drawers to further customize the storage.
the doors
A cool feature about the doors is that they are reversible. This is especially nice on the column refrigerator so if there’s a renovation or you move, it can change to open on the left or right side.
A question I’m asked frequently is where are the handles? They are at the bottom of the refrigerator section and the top of the freezer section. There’s an indent in the door so they’re easy to open.
Do fingerprints show on the doors? Since my refrigerator doors are glass, yes they do. They’re super easy to clean up though.
A small item to note is that on the glass doors, magnets don’t work.
WI-FI CONNECTIVITY
The BESPOKE refrigerator is Wi-Fi enabled so it can be synced with the SmartThings app. Through the app it’s easy to change the temperature of the refrigerator or freezer, change the FlexZone or Flex Crisper, turn on or off ice bites or cubed ice, and to power freeze or power cool for initial cool-down.
It will even tell you if your door is open or it will beep so you can hear it if you’re home.
These settings can also be changed inside the refrigerator if you don’t want to connect the refrigerator to Wi-Fi.
set-up- door clearance
When the BESPOKE refrigerator is installed, a professional team comes to do the delivery which includes putting the appliance in place, hooking up the water lines, and attaching the door panels. Then they make sure everything is working correctly.
I had one issue with the construction of the kitchen- I ended up not planning enough space so the door on the right side couldn’t completely open. Samsung has a measurement guide on their website so that mistake can be avoided.
To solve the issue, we cut a 2″ deep by 7 1/2″ wide hole in the drywall. Then trim was added to the sides. Since the back side of this wall was still ripped up due to the kitchen construction, it was accessible to add a piece of plywood to the back.
This gave the refrigerator a little over 3″ from the side of the door to the wall to open 90 degrees. The left side door can open the full 125 degrees. So if designing a kitchen around this fridge, I’d suggest not putting it right against the wall if you want it to open more than 90 degrees.
Once we knew the new opening would work, I wallpapered inside it so it’s barely noticeable. I’m happy with this solution and love how the refrigerator looks in the room!

The price for the BESPOKE 4-Door Flex™ Counter Depth refrigerator is $3898. The full depth is $3798. Here’s the link to shop.

pros and cons
I read a bunch of reviews for this refrigerator and thought I’d pull those along with my own thoughts to share the overall pros and cons-
Pros-
- The convenience of the auto fill water pitcher
- Having dual ice makers
- Hiding the water and ice maker behind the door means the front of the fridge stays cleaner
- Sleek and minimalist look that is sophisticated, custom looking, and personalized
- The storage is well thought out. It’s easy to find a place for each item and have it conveniently accessible
- The capacity inside the fridge is plentiful
- It connects via Wi-Fi to the SmartThings app
- Good price for the size, features, and look
- ENERGY STAR® Certified
Cons-
- The door is thick and it doesn’t quite sit flush with the countertops.
- Only the front panels are customized, the side is black and that color can’t be changed
- The fridge is not fingerprint proof, but can be easily cleaned. Note, some people noted that the fridge stayed fingerprint free
- Ice maker takes up 1/6 of the freezer space
- Some people said the water pitcher tastes weird. Note, I did not find that to be true
I’ve had the BESPOKE refrigerator since June and I’ve absolutely loved it! My favorite features are how pretty it looks, the refillable water pitcher, and how easy it is to organize the inside. Let me know if you have any questions about this appliance or my experience with it in the comments.
color update
Update, I recently switched out the panels on the fridge to the color Matte Sky Blue Glass. I found that the matte finish show finger prints way less than Rose Pink Glass. It cost $49.99 per panel to change the color. Which is a great option if you’re remodeling or your taste changes or you buy a home with a color you don’t like.
I switched out my panels for media coverage for Samsung. I still love the pink color and have it so I can switch it back whenever I want. It is really fun to be able to change the color of my fridge in 15 minutes!
MyBespoke custom fridge panels
Samsung just came out with a super cool new feature for this fridge- MyBespoke Custom fridge panels! You can take any image you created and upload to their website and order custom panels for the top section of the fridge!
So I now have a custom rainbow fridge I love! The fun thing about this is now you can have a fridge that looks however you want it to. It could be a family photo, a vacation picture, your art- really anything!
I love how the rainbow fridge turned out. I thought I’d put it up as available for a free download in case anyone else wants a rainbow fridge too!
