Welcome! It’s final reveal time for my One Room Challenge room- the deck!!!
Since we have completed the deck, we have had two parties and this is the perfect hangout spot (especially after the baby goes to sleep)
It has been super rainy around here, but the clouds parted just in time for me to take pictures
The whole renovation started with painting the railing. We then added carpet, a rug, and recovered the chair cushions.
Would you like to see the before again? Here was the deck in 2010:
And this is how it looked 6 weeks ago-so sad!!!
And not it’s a cozy spot! Lighting made a HUGE difference. The globe lights across the deck make it feel like a mini room.
I added some outdoor art (check back next week for a tutorial and how I hung it without damaging the siding).
I added a home-made table top to update my patio furniture.
We planted lots of flowers! My husband and Don gave me the railing planters for my birthday and Mother’s day. They were the perfect gifts!
For outdoor accessorizing, I have a lantern, cacti, and some succulents. Check back next week for a full budget and source breakdown.
And then I let my dogs have a very romantic date a la Lady and the Tramp style. I know that is silly, I just couldn’t help myself! Lucy (left) loved this idea while Derek (right) knew he wasn’t allowed to eat off the table and wouldn’t eat a bite. Haha, I know I am ridiculous!
So there you have it! My fully renovated space!
If you missed any of the past deck posts, here is the deck plan
and here is the first week’s progress (and embarrassing mistakes)
The lighting I did on a budget
I DIYed a play kitchen for the Deck out of a thrift store piece of furniture

What a great deck transformation (love the black and white striped fabric on the chairs!) – but I just had to comment to say that the lady + the tramp picture is too cute 🙂 (I can’t get enough of cavs!)
