Moving to our house in Florida, one of my first priorities was getting my desk set-up (since I work from home and all). The weeks heading up to our move were a little hectic because we were packing everything up and I was finding new furniture for our beach house.
This cute desk from InspireQ (available at Overstock here) was one of the first things I selected. Here’s what I love about it- the campaign styling is so, so cute. There are two drawers so you can hide your not so cute office supplies. It is affordable- less than $200! And it comes in 11 different colors so you can really customize it to fit your decor.
How great are the corner brackets and x-base legs?! As I mentioned in my house tour, I ended up housing my office in the large entry because it is full of light and close to where Don plays. I still have a lot to do to “fill” the space, but for right now this cozy desk is all I need!
Since I needed a desk chair to go with my desk, I decided to get a little creative and do an Ikea Hack to customize the Snille office chair. This is a $19.99 chair and I love how affordable it is (can you see a theme here! ;))! Plus with this hack, you can make it match your decor (another theme!).
Spray paint for the back of the chair (I used Candy Pink). Use a paint specifically for plastic.
Spray paint for the base of the chair (I used Brilliant Gold). Use a paint specifically for metal.
Step one- spray paint all of the pieces. I painted just the back of the chair the pink. I didn’t bother to tape off the front and none got on the front
Assemble and you’re done! I sure love an easy DIY! Put your chair at your cute desk and you’re in business!
I placed some cute accessories at my desk that make me smile while I’m working. I had to bring the flamingo with us to Florida 😉
I am so thrilled with how my little office turned out! The desk is the perfect pop of color and makes me happy when I walk in the door. One of my favorite things is the beautiful view as I look out the window!
If you need a place to work from home or even just pay your bills, I hope this inspires you! You can have a space all for yourself and do it on a budget.
