Drum roll please…….. My entry is complete! Today I will reveal my final entry design and take you through the before and after. First off, I have to say that I still walk into my house I think “I love this! It’s SO classy!” Haha! I feel like the space is welcoming, is functional, and reflects the style of the rest of my home. It just makes me SO happy to walk through the front door and see this:
I used to have a sad view- and it had been sad for years. Here is how it looked a month ago-

Like I said before, it was a cave! To begin, I came up with a plan:
I picked out new flooring
Painted the walls white and added chair molding. I tore out the old tile floors
Added picture molding
Painted the doors a mint color (Sea Glass by Martha Stewart- you can get it at Home Depot. They can mix it with Gliden paint). And painted the molding white and re-installed it.
And now we have a finished space!!!
Candle- Goodword Candles. Pineapple, console, and canister- Down East Home. Frames- Framed and Matted. Tapestry- Target (no longer available). Smile- Michael’s
Rug, lamp (no longer available), wreath (no longer available), mirror– Target, W- Michael’s, Floors- Home Decorator’s Collection from Home Depot, Bowl- Z Gallerie (no longer available), Salt Water Sandals.
We bought the console from Down East Home and it makes such a difference having the perfect fitting piece in the space! It’s skinny enough that you can still walk past, but it fills the space visually so it doesn’t feel empty. I think sometimes people think that if you have empty space, your room will feel less cluttered. I find that I end up with more clutter because there is space for it. I love having a defined space for items so your home is purposeful. I also think that the trim I added helped with that- and it really adds to the classy feeling!
abstract art (no longer available)
Another favorite part of this makeover was working with Framed and Matted! I got three frames from them for the art I needed for the space. They were super easy to work with! I just went online, choose the color of frame (I got Brompton White), the color of mat (I choose white and coral), the size and in less than 5 minutes I had 3 custom frames shipping to me!
When they arrived, I was very impressed by the quality! Plus they had hanging hardware for each one and plastic bumpers so that the frames don’t ding your walls. Yes, please! having beautifully framed art definitely takes the space up a notch!
I used gold accents in the space and it really feels rich and adds some warmth to the space. I bought the wall weaving below from Target. Doesn’t the texture of it feel great in here?!
The space is a little hard to photograph because it is so small, but there is a nice balance between warm and cool colors and a good variety in textures from the wood to the metals to the pretty rug.
Turkish Towel from Scents and Feels (no longer available)
The space has no natural light with the door closed so I really struggled with getting an accurate photo of the front door wall (there’s two doors in my entry- one to the garage and one to the front porch). So excuse these photos 🙂
I wanted to try something new and do a budget breakdown for how much the entry cost since I did a total makeover on it. My goal is that people see the space and not think it is unattainable. Or at least have a realistic expectation for what a project actually costs. As always, I tried to be on a tight budget and cut costs when I could. Let’s see what the total came to be!
Flooring
Laminate flooring– $44
Subfloor- $12
Underlayment- $28
Transition- $12
Rug– $15
Total- $111
Walls
Paint- $12 (for mint doors)
Paint- $27 (for white walls)
Paint- $27 (for white trim)
Trim-$50 (for picture molding)
Caulk- $5
Total- $121
Decor
Console- $280
Frames (by door)- $8
Gold W- $3
Abstract Art– $15
Believe in Magic Art- $2
Wall Weaving- $34.99
Round Brass Mirror– $31
Brass Lamp– $19
Total- $393
Grand Total- $625
I have to admit, whenever I total up these projects I am a little shocked at the total. Haha! I tried to get what I could on sale and used what I already had in a lot of instances. I am THRILLED with the space, so that’s good. I have been saving since February to do the floors and it really is a domino effect, pushing other projects into the light. Anyway, it cost me $625 to redo the space. Do you think it was worth it?
Thank you for following along and let me know if you have any questions!
This post was sponsored by Framed and Matted. I truly loved them and hope you will check them out too!
