My kitchen countertop was a huge mess. Mostly because I bought herbs and never did anything with them. So I decided to make a fun project with them! I thought I’d use some items from the Dollar Store and see what I could create! I do love a good challenge. Here’s my Dollar Store DIY indoor herb garden
DIY Double Shower Curtain Tutorial
For my rainbow tile bathroom, I wanted to try something new- how about two curtains on one shower rod? I like this look because with a little more effort and money, I can get a much more high end look! There were a few small tricky things so I thought I’d write a tutorial in case one of you wants to try to make a DIY Double Shower Curtain.
Rainbow Tile Bathroom Reveal
The time is here! The day is now! Ready to see the rainbow tile bathroom reveal?! It’s been a year and a half since we took a room down to the studs. So redoing this bathroom so throughly has felt momentous! Every inch of this room has been lovingly updated and I can’t wait to show off all the special touches.
How to Repair Furniture Scratches- Rainbow Rocking Chair
My porch is long and skinny and hard to decorate. I used to have a bench on the porch, but after I moved it to the fire pit area, it’s been empty. We’ve been missing that spot to sit so I’ve been on the lookout for a replacement piece of furniture. I figured a rocking chair would be perfect- especially if I could make it rainbow! Here’s how I did that and I’m going to share some tips for how to repair furniture scratches.
Repurposed furniture as a DIY Bathroom vanity
I’ve been working hard on our bathroom. For the vanity I wanted to do something unique while saving money and using a quality piece of furniture. It took awhile (mostly because the vanity space is so small), but I found the perfect vintage cabinet! I thought I’d show you how to use a repurposed furniture as a DIY Bathroom vanity
DIY Fabric Picture Frame
I’ve been on a kick of making Anthropologie dupes. I love their stuff, but it is SO fun to make a version of my own. This week, I spotted an amazing picture frame for $24. I thought that I could make one from a thrifted frame, so I set out! Here’s how to make a DIY fabric picture frame.
Tie Dye Fall Pumpkin Wreath
I wanted to make a fall wreath, but my supplies got canceled from Amazon. So I ran to Joann Fabric to see if I could find some dried florals. The pickings were slim, but I did spot some mini pumpkins covered in sweaters. I thought- those would be cute tie dyed! So I grabbed two packages for my tie dye fall pumpkin wreath.
They were on sale for 50% off, but that did meant I spent $25 on pumpkins. Pretty pricey! I later realized that I should just have bought a thrifted sweater and made my own. But these were quicker, so that was nice.
Don’s Room Refresh- Scallops and Dresser
Last week I kicked off a makeover on Don’s room by switching out his twin bed for a queen iron bed. And, I obviously couldn’t leave the room as is, and decided to paint the walls. I thought I’d show you the new scallops I painted and a little dresser makeover.
DIY Baking Soda Painted Vase
Have you guys seen the trend where people are taking sad old vases and repainting them? You just add baking soda to any water based paint to get a textured clay look. Or a terra cotta finish. It’s really pretty! So I decided to try it with my own look while replicating an expensive Anthropologie vase. Here’s my DIY baking soda painted vase.
Iron Bed Round Up
My son Don’s room has been on my list of spaces to work on. Why? Well, lots of reasons. The first one is that I wanted to get a bigger bed in there for when we rent it out as an Air BNB. A queen bed is better for a couple or two kids than one or two twin beds. So I ordered a bed, set it up and am excited to show you! Plus I’ll do an iron bed round up if you want a similar look.

Another reason I want to redo Don’s room is that it’s just not as light and bright as the other spaces in my house. It doesn’t flow with them. It’s not bad, but I want it to be super cute! Here’s the pictures of how it looks now-
Also, do you remember when DIY Magazine came to take pictures of my house last August? I mentally took note of the spaces they didn’t take pictures of (the guest room, my bedroom, and Don’s room) and have been planning on making those more appealing.
Sometimes, living in your own space you become blind to the rooms. But having the insight from magazine editors was so valuable!
All that to say- it’s time for a little refresh in Don’s room. I’m probably not going to be able to do as much as I’d like (since we’re headed to Florida for the winter at the beginning of October), but I have some fun plans that I think will make a big difference.
