With fall being here, I am excited for some festive decorations! But I like them to match my decor too. So I decided to make my own fabric pumpkins in colors that will match my house. This is a pretty easy project and I’ll walk you through each step.
I was thrifting the other day and spotted the cutest grandfather clock. Well, it was it was the shell of one because it was missing the actual clock part. I didn’t buy it at first- even though it was only $25. But I fell in love with it and luckily it was still there when I checked the next day! Using a china cabinet in your house might seem like an old fashioned idea, but you can’t get a bigger storage solution for your buck! I looked for a few months for a used china cabinet and saw them going for at most $150, but frequently given away for free. If you’re looking for extra storage and a fun piece of furniture to makeover and refinish, consider painting a china cabinet!
I bought my china cabinet for $125- such a good price for a quality vintage piece! I knew I needed a big piece with storage on the bottom (for my crafts), and display on top.
The scale is perfect for the room and it looks much better than my old kitchen cabinets stacked. I thought I could create a built in with them, but that didn’t work out, so the China cabinet was a better solution!

I’ve been wanting to add more plants to my house. Of course, I couldn’t have any old planters- I wanted to make mine own! When we recently redid our kitchen, I left one wall blank because I knew I wanted a diy plate rack wall. These are great because they’re easy and affordable to build. A plate rack is also a nice way to display dishes when you don’t have much space. While a china cabinet is beautiful, it takes a lot of room. Car vinyl comes off cleanly so this works for renters and it doesn’t ruin your stove! Plus it withstands high temperatures. I’ve had the wrap on for 2 years and it has held up great! It cleans easily and there are zero issues with the heat.
