Well, I guess I should start this post by saying I made my seasonal move from Florida to Utah last week! And since I’m in Fairview Cottage, I thought I’d work on my She Shed! It has a BIG window, but I’ve always wanted a shelf in front of it to hold cut flowers. But first I had to figure out how to hang a shelf in front of windows. Here’s my inspiration image-

Last year I redid my main bedroom and after living with it awhile, I hated it. It was dark and heavy and felt oppressive. The truth is that I get depressed sometimes and this room didn’t lift me up. So, even though it was wasteful to remove the wallpaper, it had to come down. This isn’t just a main bedroom reveal, it’s how I designed a room to help with my mental health.
Last fall, I went to work on updating my kitchen from a dated and dreary space to my dream kitchen. One of the things I really considered in the design was color. I started with the sink and then coordinated the fridge and stove. Color in a kitchen can be scary, so I thought I’d give you some tips for bringing it into your space to add more personality and fun.
Spring is practically here! To celebrate the arrival of my favorite season, I decided to build a planter box for flowers. I’ve also been having some bug problems so I wanted to share what I’m doing about those. Keep reading for instructions for the DIY cedar planter box.
As we’ve been working on the garage laundry room renovation for the past month, I’ve been keeping track of every penny we’ve spent on the renovation. Today I went thrift shopping and hit the jackpot with brass finds! There were bow details on candle sticks and a tray with bamboo trim- swoon! But they were badly tarnished. I decided to give them a good cleaning and thought I’d document the process and share how to clean brass.

Easter is right around my birthday so I have lovely memories of hunting for eggs, dying eggs, and dressing up for a fancy dinner. All this makes Easter one of my favorite holidays! Plus it’s the most pastel time of year for clothes and decorating, which you know I love.
