One of my goals for the beginning of the year is to create affordable projects that’ll make my house even better. Enter my main bedroom closet. It’s fine, but a little embarrassing when it’s empty. So I decided to re do it and jazz it up with paint. I thought I’d share some cute organized closets and supplies.
When we redid my kitchen, I wanted to try new things- maybe a hood and floating shelves! Last year, I was visiting my friends at Kichler and they showed me their LED tape light and said I really needed to use it in my next kitchen remodel. It’s the beginning of a new year! Which means my brain is full of hopes and goals for the year. I’ve taken time off and had lots of time to dream! Let’s get cracking! This year, I have two houses and they’re mostly done. So now I get to dive into the nitty gritty. I get to really refine my houses. What isn’t working? What needs the most work? So here’s my 2021 project plans. This will be fun!

But when an editor for a big magazine asked me if I had anything they could feature, and I had to say no, I realized that I should probably try my hand at some decor for the holiday. So I present you- how to make a New Years banner.

Whenever I design a space, I start with one item that sparks the ideas for the rest of the space. In most rooms, I usually begin with wallpaper or drapes or a rug. In my newly renovated kitchen, it all began with a sink. To be more precise, a Mint Creme colorful sink!
I was at the thrift store last week right before it closed. The store was empty besides a few employees- it was heaven (this store is usually packed). I grabbed a few things and then decided to walk through the furniture section and spotted the cutest little French Country end table. It was only $15 so I impulsed shopped it. I didn’t give it a full inspection, but later realized that it’s made with wood veneer. I thought I’d share some tips for how to paint veneer furniture.
A few weeks ago, I shared my finished kitchen. It’s been so fun cooking in this pretty space! After the big reveal, I kept getting asked how to paint IKEA cabinets since the pink paint is one of the main attractions in this room. I thought I’d share everything that worked and what didn’t work and what I regret. Let’s get this painting party started!
This is our first Christmas in our house in Florida. We left all of our Christmas in Utah, so we’ve been starting over with our holiday decor. For the stocking, I thought it would be a fun challenge to try and thrift a stocking and to repurpose it. Here’s my DIY thrift store Christmas stockings.
Hello! Last week I finished my kitchen renovation. It was a little over 7 weeks of hard work so it feels so good to be enjoying the finished room! I did some holiday baking yesterday and I was so grateful to have such a pretty space to cook in! Since it is a smaller space, one thing I did to maximize the space visually was with the panel ready dishwasher.
When we started, the kitchen was one small row of cabinets. We added more cabinets (mostly to fit in a dishwasher where there wasn’t one before), but it’s still tiny! The one thing I knew was that stopping the eye at the new dishwasher if I choose a stainless steel or other traditional option, it’d break up the space visually.
So if you have a small kitchen, this is definitely something I suggest!
