I’ve been needing a lamp for my entry table. When I was out thrifting, I found a great shaped cylinder lamp. I figured I could use it to get a “look for less” for the Kelly Wearstler lamp I’d seen recently. That’s a $695 lamp(!!!) so I knew I’d be able to make it for much, much less money- mind cost $20! When I redid my kitchen, I wanted to change the floor tile, but didn’t have the budget and was concerned about having to to tear up all the tile on our main living areas. The tile goes from the kitchen to the living room to the hall. Instead of that, I decided to do a temporary project of putting in peel and stick tiles. One of my goals with having this site is to help people have their dream home. And let’s face it, a tub full of grime (or dye- read to the bottom for that) is not something dreams are made of. This is the “before” photo of my dirty bathtub from 2017. How embarrassing! It was covered in stains and dirt. I have tried SO many times to get the tub clean that I was planning on resurfacing it since I just couldn’t get it looking at all clean.
I figured that I would try one more time to clean it since I was redoing my bathroom and needed a pretty tub to go with the rest of the re-finished space.
I’ve been redoing my bedroom. After removing the dark wallpaper, the white drapes were too boring. Plus they were too short for the room. So I thought I could dye them and buy more fabric to lengthen them instead of buying new drapes. Maybe I could spend $35 instead of $200 and still get the look I wanted?! Here’s some DIY curtain ideas.
The above picture is how the room started. Pretty, but the wallpaper was too dark and I felt like it looked choppy with the heavy wallpaper on top and white on bottom.
Plus, can you see how the drapes are barely above the window? They’re hung too low and make the room look shorter than it actually is.
So after I painted the top of the walls and added more panel molding, it was time to customize these drapes! Ready to see what I did?

I love holidays and decorating for them, but I’ve done nothing for Valentine’s Day. So I decided a wreath was the perfect item! And of course, I wanted it to be hearts and rainbow because, well, if you know me those make me happy. So I ran to the store for supplies and then make a fun DIY rainbow heart wreath!
Growing up- I loved Valentine’s Day! Having Valentine cards to share with my class mates and making a fun box. Dressing up for school. It was all so much fun!
Since my little family will all home this year, I’ve ordered some personalized chocolates for my two Valentine’s from my favorite small chocolate shop. I’ve also have supplies to make heart shaped pancakes. I think it’ll be fun! Do you do anything special for Valentine’s Day?
The time has come, the day is now. I’m going to make my laundry space cute. But let’s be real- it’s going to be challenging. We have a small garage that the washer and dryer are in so it’ll be tricky to take it from utilitarian to real special. But I have plans for the garage laundry room! I’ve been dreaming about this and now- I get to show you my ideas!
Last year I got a cute outdoor set of furniture, but the gray stain has not held up to the weather. I’ve redone the matching bench and chairs by painting them. But I thought for this project I’d do a DIY mosaic table top with broken dishes. I figured it’d be perfect to thrift some floral China plates for decorating the top of the coffee table!
When I was little, my grandma showed my her neighbor’s backyard. They’d spend hours and hours adding mosaic to almost every surface- the table, stones, paths down the garden. The memory is a little fuzzy, but I remember how magical it felt to be surrounded by someone’s beautiful and unique art!
