Thonet Bentwood Rocking Chair

In 2003 I went to Interior Design school at FIDM in Los Angelos. One of my favorite classes was on the history of furniture. I remember a book my professor suggested- 1000 Chairs. It had all of the chairs I’d learned and many more. One of them, the Thonet bentwood rocking chair (pronounced tho-nay) stood out.

When I was little, this rocking chair was in our house. It didn’t seem special, just a background piece in my memories. I’m a very nostalgic person so when I was thrifting and found a kids size Bentwood rocking chair for $25 in perfect condition, I swooped it right up!

Planning kitchen storage and organization during a reno

We are in week 2 of our kitchen remodel. The best thing happened this week when my husband announced that we were done tearing things apart and were now moving towards putting things back! It’s mostly him doing the hard work right now so I’ve been planning kitchen and organization for once we can put everything back.

DIY Dinosaur Mural

Right before we moved (literally hours), I painted a mural on Don’s wall. Now, that sounds crazy. But I had the idea and I couldn’t get it out of my head so I did all of the chores of moving and when I had some extra time left over, I went for it.
