As I’ve shared pictures of our new house, there’s one before photo that always stands out to me as the worst. And it’s Don’s room. Since he is so young (3) and has had a lot of transition lately with all of our moves, its a priority to me to get his room decorated so he can move in and feel settled and at home.

There are officially 4 days until we move into our new house- Fairview Cottage! As a recap, after living in Florida, we moved back to Utah and bought a house. Everything took longer than I thought it would (mainly because of one big problem), but we finally get the keys on Monday! While we’ve been waiting, I’ve been designing the house.

Road Trip Hacks

Hi friends! This winter we lived in Florida for 6 months. It was so fun to have a change of pace with no snow and lots of beach days! I also loved decorating our house– I really went all out and took some risks because I knew it was temporary. Since I have a three year old son and two dogs, we had to pace the driving and it took 40 hours over 7 days. Since we’re pros at this by now 😉 , I’ve figured out some road trip hacks to make the long hours in the car bearable. If a road trip is in your future, I hope these will help you!

As a back story, we moved to Florida right after Christmas when we had just sold our home (aka, it was a stressful time in our lives). On the way down, I didn’t do much to prepare. I had some DVD’s, a coloring book, and some downloaded shows on my phone and that was about it. Well, it wasn’t enough. My son got bored and we got in the bad habit of buying a new treat and a small toy (if we could find one) as gas stations on the way.

Outdoor Bench DIY and Round up

Hi friends! If you follow along here, I am currently between houses (one week until we move into our next house!!!). While we’re waiting to close, we’ve been staying with different family members. To say thank you, I’ve been doing some DIY projects for them.

This week, I refinished my sister’s indoor bench that now lives outside. It hasn’t been taking the elements too well and the seat was pretty weathered and had paint peeling off. Here’s a before photo:
