How to Paint Shelf Brackets

my new hurricane windows- also know as high impact or hurrican resistant windows and doors. I go over the cost and installation. I'm in South Florida- close to Miami and share my experience of these anti hurricane windows and if they're worth it. They protect against wind and water and have screens.

A few weeks ago I installed new wallpaper in my dining room. It’s everything I wanted in the space! I looooooove it! BUT it did make me realize what else I want to change. The wallpaper is perfect so now everything that isn’t great is terrible. If that makes sense ;). So I thought I’d show you how to paint shelf brackets.

Since one of those things was the shelf brackets. They were black and technically fine, but for my house, they were too bold and stood out too much. I figured gold would pull in the chandelier color so I decided to paint them. I’m trying to enjoy the smaller DIY’s where I use what I have on hand to upgrade my house and aren’t that complicated. This is one of those projects!

Happy Weekend Friends!

It’s officially spring! I started working on my patio this weekend- I’ve been planning it for months. To be honest, I struggled with how to share about it- does anyone even care right now?! I know that there are much bigger things going on. It weighs heavily on me.  But since the furniture is arriving and it gives me a bit of joy to spend time outside, I thought I’d still show the process.

How to make a cardboard house for a kid

Last week I received some art in the mail and they came in big boxes. I needed to recycle them, but thought- maybe I can make something with them? Since we’ve been inside more, might as well create a FREE place for my son to play! Here’s how to make a cardboard house for a kid.

My New Hurricane Windows

They protect against wind and water and have screens.Let’s do a quick recap- my family moved to Florida from Utah in January 2020. We bought the home remotely- without even stepping a toe into the property. We relied on a video tour of the house from our realtor and an inspection. From the inspection we picked our battles on what to request fixes on. The inspection showed that the windows were screwed shut and that we’d need new hurricane windows.
