Hi and welcome to the reveal of my patio! Just 6 short weeks ago, my patio was a neglected corner with huge holes in the walls and a dark space that no one used. I am renting so I got the permission from my landlord to redo the space. And, spoiler alert, it turned out much better than I thought it would! Here’s how it initially looked:
Chalk Paint 101
Well, hello there! Earlier this year I finally joined the “I love chalk paint” bandwagon. I’ve been doing a lot of DIY projects for this house and it has been amazing using chalk paint to put that finishing touch on them. Since I am a slow adapter to chalk paint, I thought there might be others out there too, so this post is for you! Here’s Chalk Paint 101. [Read more…]
Patio- Tile Floor
When I decided to redo our patio, I figured I’d go big and redo the floors too. Today I’m going to share with you how we (my husband and I because my hubby did most of the work) tiled the patio. Tile is a doable project to take on and is a great way to totally change a space. [Read more…]
30 Day Organize your Home Challenge
The countdown is officially on- in 31 days we are moving from Florida to Utah. Do you know what I’ve done to prepare? Nothing. So I figured I’d pick an area of my house and each day I’d organize and declutter it. That way, when its time to pack, all I’ll have is items I love that are sorted nicely and ready to go. Well friends, I’m calling it- my living room is decorated and 100% done! That feels so good to say! It wasn’t so long ago that we didn’t have a piece of furniture in here (February, to be exact). And now I’m so happy with it! I’ve recently added a few items that I thought I’d share along with some tips on how I mixed my glam look and added in some beach-y vibes. [Read more…]

How to Paint Perfect Stripes
I’ll be the first to admit- process has been slow to start on the patio. But we have officially dove in! We have friends coming to visit in a few weeks so things should be coming together quickly now! The hope is that a lot of the work will be done before their arrival. Florida Update
I’ve been meaning to write a post on how we have been liking Florida since we moved here in mid-January. I still get questions about how we’re liking it. I also get lots of questions about our favorite family activities so I’ve included some of those too. The move from Utah to Florida was a big one so I thought I’d dive in and share all about it today!
We went to Pinto’s Farm for Easter
why did you move?
My husband and I have been married 10.5 years and for the last 9, we lived in the same condo. We loved that place, but we were itching for a change. Winter is not fun in Utah (for us, at least)- there’s snow and because of the way Salt Lake is shaped with the mountains on one side and the lake on the other, it traps in bad air. It actually gets unhealthy to go outside. [Read more…]
How to Update Chair Cushions with Chalk Paint
I am working on my patio and I am on a budget. IBUT I still want it super cute! I have a table coming from Overstock, but I was in dire need of cute outdoor chairs. My wish list for the chairs was the following- white, bamboo detail, affordable. So I checked out my favorite place for a good bargain find- Craigslist. [Read more…]
