The walls on my she shed were rough- beautiful wood, but the nails from installing the exterior poked through. That was covered by Styrofoam insulation which was terrible to look at. I didn’t like the idea of throwing away the Styrofoam (because of the mess and environmental reasons), so I decided that shiplap was the way to go!

As you saw from my last post, the she shed got some shiplap installed! And today I get to show you how cute she’s looking! Here’s how the shed was shaping up just a few days ago- [Read more…]
She Shed Progress

she shed progress
The last time I shared the She Shed, it looked like this- a storage shed. My husband and I have done a bunch of clean up and demo to prep the space. I was hoping to share a tutorial on putting up the shiplap, but we aren’t quite done yet. Here’s how it looks right now- [Read more…]
Gallery Wall on a Budget

I am still in LOVE with gallery walls. I think it’s a trend that will hold on and continue to evolve. After I shared this rainbow gallery wall (all from Minted, probably $1000 in art), I kept getting asked for tips on how to get a similar look on a budget.
Let’s be clear, if you can afford it, Minted is amazing! You are supporting the artists that sell there, the art is stunning, and it’s so convenient to choose the exact size and color of your frame that is shipped right to your house.
But if money is tight, I 100% get it- not everyone has the budget to do such a splurge on art. I am SO grateful to have partners to work with, but it wasn’t so long ago that I had to be crazy scrappy to do any decorating. [Read more…]
One Room Challenge- 3
Here we are on week three of the One Room Challenge and where are we at? Still doing demo. Because our laundry room used to be a porch, there were MANY layers that we needed to peel back- drywall over faux brick over clapboard over actual brick. We decided to take off all drywall since we found some mold. This project keeps getting more and more fun!
BUT there’s been lots of behind the scenes stuff too! Here’s what’s been going on this week-

How to Install a New Mailbox
This is the front of my house- charming right?! Lol! So it needs some help. The fact that my mailbox got hit by a delivery truck a few months doesn’t help. I’m planning lots of projects outside this summer. First up, a new mailbox!
I’m excited to get this house some much needed curb appeal! If you have an old, basic mailbox like I do, here’s how to easily upgrade it.

How to Fix Wallpaper Bubbles
A few months ago I installed the prettiest chinoiserie peel and stick wallpaper mural and framed it. I loved this feature wall, but it soon started developing huge bubbles that wouldn’t go away, no matter how much I pushed on them. It was pretty disappointing- I’ve wallpapered dozens of walls and this was the first time I’ve gotten bubbles.
I’m not sure if it’s the paper, the frame, or if I didn’t let the paint cure long enough before papering. But whatever the reason, I needed a solution. I asked my lovely Instagram readers and they gave me some great tips. I thought I’d share what ended up working!

How to Frame a Canvas for Cheap
I had dinner with some super creative people a few weeks ago. We were talking about our projects and both people I was eating with told me that they asked themselves this question when they were making things- “how can I make this better? What would I do to improve this?” Pushing yourself to be your best makes for beautiful projects.
So, I’ve started asking myself the same thing. I LOVED the rainbow art I made a few days ago, but it did feel a little naked without a frame. I wanted to make a frame that finished it off, but was budget friendly, AND easy to make. That is how this tutorial came to be! After sharing a sneak peek of it on Instagram, I got a bunch of DM’s for a how to. So let’s get started!

How to Add Trim- Sliding Closet Door
Back in February, we redid the office and I was SO excited because we found the closet doors for in here! Before that, we had a set of drapes covering the closet that didn’t really fit and looked kind of sad. I felt like these doors were a missed opportunity, but there they sat.
Until this week! I decided to add trim and some decals to pull in the doors with the wallpaper on the other walls. The best part is that I was able to add decorative trim. It is super thin, but works- even on the sliding closet doors! Want to see how to do this project?!
One Room Challenge -2

Hi friends! Its week two of the One Room Challenge! Last week I announced that I’ll be redoing my laundry room. This week was all about the demo and planning for how the room will turn out. As a reminder, here’s how the room started out-
