How to Add Trim- Sliding Closet Door

Back in February, we redid the office and I was SO excited because we found the closet doors for in here! Before that, we had a set of drapes covering the closet that didn’t really fit and looked kind of sad. I felt like these doors were a missed opportunity, but there they sat.

Until this week! I decided to add trim and some decals to pull in the doors with the wallpaper on the other walls. The best part is that I was able to add decorative trim. It is super thin, but works- even on the sliding closet doors! Want to see how to do this project?!

How to Float Art in front of Drapes

At the beginning of February we tore down the plaster on one wall in my living room so I could frame some gorgeous wallpaper. My husband and I knew that we needed to finish converting the other 2 walls in the room to drywall, but pushed it off because its such a messy job!

Personally, what drives me to do a project (especially one that’s not so fun) is the vision of the final project. Well, I finally got the vision and that very weekend we started tearing out the plaster in the living room. [Read more…]

DIY Color Block Rainbow Wall Art

For over a month, our living room has been torn up while we replaced the plaster walls for drywall. The goal is for more energy efficiency and have a better surface to work with. I’ll do another blog post with more details, but pretty much it entails a bunch of dust and mudding and insulating.

On Friday, my husband put on the last coat of mud on the new drywall so the room was handed to me- it was time to caulk the seams and paint the walls.

While I was doing the (not so fun) painting, I thought about putting the room back together. I sure missed the drapes and rug! One thing I didn’t miss was the gallery wall. Since I didn’t want to put a bunch of holes in the wall for art I didn’t like, I thought about alternatives. Want to see what I came up with?!

DIY Dog leash and treat Station

Hi Friends! Do you ever think of a project and realize that it solves all of your problems? How to Paint a Kitchen Island

Last week I stayed at my sister’s house to watch her 4 kids while she and her husband went on a trip to Italy. While there, I asked if I could paint her kitchen island for her. She agreed so I thought I’d share the process.

Here’s the thing- my sister lives in a beautiful home that was built less than 10 years ago. Technically, everything is in great shape. But in reality, not everything matches her personality.
