As a decorator, I know what a difference lighting makes. A room needs furniture to be functional. If you want to turn a room from ok to a “designer room” with wow- you need great lighting. In our old house, I was always pleasantly surprised by how many people commented on the dining room chandelier when they came to visit. They loved it (as did I) and it made a difference in how the room felt! [Read more…]
DIY Hairpin Floral Bench

I have a really fun and affordable DIY today! Here’s the truth- you can have the house of your dreams no matter your budget or house size. While I’ve been decorating our rental house in Florida, I’ve had to shop at thrift stores and make my own pieces since I don’t have the budget to buy everything brand new. But I think it is a GOOD thing to mix new and handmade and second hand- it makes it feel collected. So here’s the DIY: [Read more…]
The Best Walls in Miami!
We’ve been in Florida a few weeks and are finally getting out to explore! Last week, we drove to Wynwood which is well known for it’s street murals. For a girl who loves a pretty backdrop, this is such a fun spot! We brought my new bike and strolled the streets.

Master Bedroom Plans and New Bed

In December, I started planning the decor for our Florida home and I have been really looking forward to sharing it with you!!! Above is the moodboard I came up with. The brass bed is definitely the star of the show! I was planning tropical wallpaper, but since we switched rooms with Don, that has been nixed until I can find a better place for it. [Read more…]
Don’s Bookcase and DIY Bookends

Hello there! I am on a quest to decorate our new house- room by room. When we first arrived, I set Don’s books neatly in his room and then continued to unpack the house. Within minutes (I’m not exaggerating at all) every book was spread across the room. It was a mess! So I went on the hunt for a bookcase- because who can live that?! Lol! [Read more…]

Home Ideas from Magnolia Market
Last week, on our way from Utah to Florida, we stopped by Magnolia Market in Waco, Texas. You know, Joanna and Chip Gaines’ (from Fixer Upper) shop. Before going, I had a friend on Facebook tell me that its super busy at all times and not too enjoyable because there are people and lines for everything everywhere.
silos

I was prepared to make it as fun as possible, but my expectations were low. Spoiler alert, I loved it! We went right when it opened on a weekday and it wasn’t crowded at all. I almost cried seeing the silos. For me, that little spot symbolized people dreaming big and making their wishes happen. That really resonates with me!
